‘Werewolves Within’ Teases Small Town Lycanthropic Panic Ahead of Tribeca

After a proposed pipeline creates divisions within the small town of Beaverfield, and a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local inn, newly arrived forest ranger FINN (Sam Richardson) and postal worker CECILY (Milana Vayntrub) must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.

It’s a werewolf summer, folks! There’s been rumblings (and growls) about this “whodunnit with teeth” for a while now. Following director Josh Ruben’s wildly entertaining debut, “Scare Me” (which in my opinion was one of the best films of 2020 that single-handedly breathed life into the meta-horror genre), I couldn’t be more excited for this followup. An ensemble cast to die for, including Sam Richardson (Veep, Promising Young Woman), Milana Vayntrub (Marvel’s New Warriors, AT&T, and an uncomfortable van ride I shared with her in LA once), George Basil (Crashing, Flaked), & Sarah Burns (Barry, Slow Learners), we can safely anticipate some sharp performances. And I don’t know anything about the video game it’s based on, but I have a great respect for Ubisoft, so I might have to get a controller in my hands ahead of release. Journalistic research of course.

“This movie is a tribute to those of us who are resolute that good conquers evil, and that “being good” is the best weapon we’ve got, against guns, knives, even claws… Sometimes, you just gotta be a good neighbor, no matter how wicked people are.” -Josh Ruben

Werewolves Within arrives to theaters June 25, 2021 and On Demand July 2, 2021
