Jobless and searching for purpose, Emma and a group of young people from Los Angeles drive up the coast to make quick cash trimming marijuana on a secluded farm in Northern California. Cut off from the rest of the world, they soon realize that Mona—the seemingly amiable owner of the estate—is harboring darker secrets than any of them could imagine. It becomes a race against time for Emma and her friends to escape the dense woods with their lives.
Weed witches? The “ultimate nightmare blunt rotation”? Those Paper Street Pictures folks who seem to never miss (Scare Package, The Pale Door, Blood Relatives) are bringing us an ensemble situation that won’t just kill buzzes. Eco-horror from an angle I’ve yet to see, director Vide Noir’s Trim Season stars Bethlehem Million (Sick) as Emma, Jane Badler, Bex Taylor-Klaus (Hell Fest, Scream: the Series), Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes), Ryan Donowho (Cabin Fever 3: Patient Zero), Cory Hart, & Ally Ioannides (Synchronic, V/H/S/99).
