This just in – Lady Gaga has signed on for Season 5 of American Horror Story! Just when we thought that her impressive ‘Sound of Music’ medley at the Oscars was a sign of more tame and traditional things to come, Lady Gaga posted a video this morning announcing her entry into the beloved horror series. The collaboration between AHS and Gaga isn’t completely out of left field – she previously worked with show creator Ryan Murphy on another one of his projects, ‘Glee’. This will, however, be Miss Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta’s first foray into a sustained acting role – bit parts in ‘Sin City 2’, ‘Muppets Most Wanted’, and ‘Men in Black 3’ (I should also probably mention ‘Machete Kills’ before Sam explodes at us for leaving out a Danny Trejo film) weren’t exactly bits of thespian mastery, but this just might be the perfect venue for her dramatic and strange persona. ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ promises to be unlike any season of the show to date, and we can’t wait to see what Gaga will add to the story, and what character she will play. The options are pretty limitless – after all, she was able to pull off Joe Calderone pretty damn well.
