The reception to phase one of Eric England’s 2013 hook-up horror ordeal was a bit polarizing, but personally I loved it. The graceful descent/decay, paired with some of the best sound design in ages made up for any issues the film may have had. Once parts started falling off, I found myself ignoring one of the worst doctors in history rather quickly.
“Contracted: Phase II follows the story of Samantha as she suffers from a mysterious and degenerative disease. The film centers on Riley, one of the last people to come in contact with Samantha, as he scrambles to track down those responsible for the outbreak before the highly contagious disease not only consumes his body, but the world as we know it.”
But can the sequel handle how out-of- hand things appear to be getting? Will the action elements add to the story, of just complicate things? Only time will tell.
Contracted: Phase 2 will receive a limited theatrical, as well as a VOD release on September 4th.
