First there was House of 1000 Corpses. Then there was The Devil’s Rejects. Now, from writer/director Rob Zombie comes the next blood-soaked chapter in the most violent crime saga in history… 3 From Hell.
Rob(ert) and I have very similar cinematic and cultural sensibilities (his love for Universal Monsters aside…). Serial killers and chainsaw massacres. Beard appreciation and southern rock. So you could see why from frame one, this trailer simultaneously hit me in the heart and gut. The high contrast, low quality late 70s/early 80s style news broadcast. The Manson-esque group of devoted fans and their campaign to “Free the Three”. Obviously it’s hard to remove my emotional attachment to this series, and what the climax will mean, so to avoid some sort of jinx (which I totally don’t believe in), I’ll stop now.
