SXSW ’19 Prepares to Scare With Wild Midnighters Lineup

South by Southwest’s annual Midnighters program lineup has been announced. Described as “scary, funny, sexy, controversial,” the films cover plenty of ground within genre film. New films from Roxanne Benjamin (Southbound, XX), Adam Egypt Mortimer (Some King of Hate,Holidays), and Richard Bates, Jr. (Excision, Suburban Gothic) are among the titles screening–all of which are having their world premiere.

Also announced were a few Headliners, showing the genre some love. Kevin Kölsch’s and Dennis Widmyer’s Pet Sematary remake and buzzed-about the Curse of La Llorona will be showing, with the latter having its world premiere.

MIDNIGHTERS
