A teenage girl and her father travel to a remote alien moon, aiming to strike it rich. They’ve secured a contract to harvest a large deposit of the elusive gems hidden in the depths of the moon’s toxic forest. But there are others roving the wilderness and the job quickly devolves into a fight to survive. Forced to contend not only with the forest’s other ruthless inhabitants, but with her own father’s greed-addled judgment, the girl finds she must carve her own path to escape.
This trailer delivers some morsels of story while remaining just vague enough to arouse curiosity. What we know: a teenage girl and her father encounter a potentially dangerous stranger while scouting a hazardous moon for precious gems. We get glimpses of a dystopian alt reality landscape in which bands of the moon’s other inhabitants, as well as the landscape itself, pose unknown threats to our protagonists. The cast boasts some heavy hitters, including Jay Duplass and Pedro Pascal. As a fan of all things Duplass and post-apocalyptic, I’m all in.
