Tonight was big. Not only did we experience one of the better season finales of The Walking Dead, but during commercial break we were treated to a (very) quick glimpse into Robert Kirkman’s companion series, Fear the Walking Dead.
Grab your go-bags. It’s looking like we’re finally going to see how LA does the apocalypse. According to Kirkman, this will be a prequel, unrelated to the comic, that will catch up to the current Walking Dead timeline.
“From the beginning of the show one thing we’ve heard is, ‘What’s going on over here or there.’ So the intent of the new show is to expand that world and show another corner of the United States and what’s happening there. The timeline is taking place a little bit earlier timeframe than the original show.”
Our new survivors will include a teacher played by Cliff Curtis (Gang Related). A guidance counselor played by Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards). Her addict son played by Frank Dillane, & his straight-laced sister played by Alycia Debnam Carey (The Devil’s Hand, The 100).
AMC has already locked down two seasons. Six, one-hour episodes airing this summer, with the second season following season six of The Walking Dead in 2016.
