Episode 24: Maggie / The Ghosts of Estes Park

This week we talk about living cinematically in 1979 with ‘We Are Still Here’ director Ted Geoghegan, chat with a guy about a ghost girl in a pizza place, & review midwestern slow burn zombie infection flick ‘Maggie’.

  1. So I’m a little late to the game as I just discovered your fantastic podcast and started from the beginning.. but I really wanted to comment on this one. I was also at the SFF and loved Body and am really surprised it didn’t get much attention. I noticed a VOD release a little while back but have heard very little mention of it otherwise. So that’s lame.
Also Final Girls instantly became one of my favorite modern horror films after that screening. The energy in that auditorium was amazing throughout and after.. such a great film and a super-fun experience!

  2. Hey guys. I really enjoy your podcast and been listening to it for the past few weeks. Towards the end of this particular episode a listener asked “what’s the weirdest movie you’ve ever seen?” Byron, I saw a movie similar to the one you mentioned. When I was in high school my sister and I got a hold of a vhs tape/snuff film: “Nine Inch Nails X-files.” (from 1993) It made our friend barf also. Later, my mom accidently found out what we watched and was so traumatized she made my sister and I memorize bible verses while we were grounded. LOL!

    1. KRISTEN! Thanks so much for listening. I’ve heard NOTHING of Nine Inch Nails X-Files but now I have to hunt it down…can’t wait to barf in solidarity with your friend!
