XLrator Media announced today the acquisition of North American distribution rights to the upcoming horror-thriller Drifter. For his feature film debut, director, producer, and co-writer Chris Von Hoffmann is joined by fellow co-writer Aria Emory. Von Hoffmann has won several awards at various film festivals for his short films Fuel Junkie, White Trash and Vodka 7.
Drifter follows a pair of outlaw brothers (Drew Harwood and Aria Emory) who seek temporary refuge in a desolate town inhabited by a family of psychotic cannibalistic lunatics. The film also stars James McCabe, Monique Rosario, Rebecca Fraiser and Anthony Ficco
XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon says, “Drifter is a stylish and wicked thriller infusing bloodthirsty cannibals with a Mad Max aesthetic that heralds Chris von Hoffmann as a young director to watch. We’re excited to bring genre fans his feature film debut and see what he does next.”
Drifter will be released in select theaters February 24th, and hit VOD and iTunes February 28th.
