The thing on everyones mind ever since the announcement the west coast, sister show of The Walking Dead has been, how will the spin-off to the highest rated show currently on television be different? Wheres the balance? This three minute trailer released earlier today has answered the above question, & has laid my worries to rest.
Robert Kirkman has quite possibly given us a second zombie show with just enough “new” to leave us feeling as fresh as the newly undead. The fact that the world isn’t quite in shambles yet allows for a sheet of mystery to be spread over the series, something that was abandoned a long time ago by its big sister. Primal instinct is replaced by confusion & chaos. Other than a brief & silly World War Z moment when our lead steps out into traffic, this looks like an extremely good way to spend a Sunday.
Fear the Walking Dead will premiere August 23rd. With a six episode first season, this will lead right into start of the sixth season of The Walking Dead that will return October 11th.
