Four years ago, we saw the angry spirit of a murdered high school student get revenge on a new generation of drama kids in The Gallows. Apparently, The Hangman wasn’t satisfied, because a new group of victims is on the horizon. After a passage of the haunted play (The Gallows) is read aloud to a modest social media following, The Hangman returns with another challenge.
Moving away from the found footage style of the original, the sequel appears to be a mixture of traditional filmmaking, as well as some scenes involving modern technology (cell phone footage, social media streams, etc). The same writing and directing duo (Chris Lofing and Travis Cluff) are back from the first, joined by a small cast of relatively new actors (Ema Horvath, Chris Milligan, Brittany Falardeau).
Lionsgate will release The Gallows Act II in prime spooky season, on October 25th.
Are you excited to see the second act?
