Looking for a fun way to spend your Friday the 13th? Look no further! Petri Entertainment announced today that they will be partnering with AMC Independent to release their horror comedy The Funhouse Massacre to select theaters on this spooky November day.
On Halloween night, a gruesome group of the United States’ most notorious and colorful serial killers escape from Statesville Asylum and descend on a giant funhouse whose theme is based on their different reigns of terror. The unsuspecting carnival goers think that the carnage created is just part of the show, that is, until they become part of the main attraction. The only people left to stop them are a rag tag group of college kids, a clueless Deputy and the local Sheriff, who seems to have a strange attachment to the leader of this gaggle of maniacs, the silver tongued devil, “Manny the Prophet.”
The film is directed by Andy Palmer and features stars such as Jere Burns, Scottie Thompson, Clinton Howard, Courtney Gains, and Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund. According to Palmer, “… is an homage to all of the best monsters in cinema with the style, gore and self-awareness we loved in the slashers of the 90’s. Those films appealed to horror fans and general moviegoers alike, which is what I hope for Funhouse.” Petri Entertainment’s president Warner Davis added, “We are thrilled to be releasing our film with AMC Independent…The Funhouse Massacre is a film you have to see and experience on the big screen with your friends.”
Palmer’s film has already won Best Feature and Best Special Effects for Robert Kurtzman (known for his work on films such as Scream, It Follows, and Army of Darkness) at the HorrorHound film festival in Indianapolis, where it made its world premier.
Look for The Funhouse Massacre in 15-20 U.S. theatrical markets on Friday, November 13th.
