A Zoomer Hurricane Party Goes Horribly Wrong in ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’

If Bodies Bodies Bodies wasn’t already on your radar; you’re already two steps behind but also you’re welcome for showing you.

A24 + horror + SXSW premiere + Rachel Sennot + Lee Pace – Pete Davidson. It sells itself. However, if you so desire more temptation than that…let me guide you. Bodies Bodies Bodies is the (English language) directorial debut from Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn. From the trailer, we get a group of teenagers partying in a big home somewhere. Neon lights, loud music, dancing, drinking, murdering…? Deciding to play a game that feels like a cross between a LARP and a murder mystery board game (Werewolf / Betrayal at House on the Hill vibes), the “game” quickly turns south and we are guaranteed a bloody, whodunit style slasher flick. That doesn’t sound enough for you? Okay okay. On top of all that, it seems to be a scathing satire critiquing Gen Z. This honestly could be called “Twitter Outrage: The Movie” based on phrases such as “escalating the situation”, “gaslighting”, “triggered”, “toxic”, “silencing me” and more.

A big ensemble cast that I couldn’t be more excited about (except for Pete Davidson) including Rachel Sennot (GO WATCH SHIVA BABY RIGHT NOW), Lee Pace (Halt and Catch Fire), Amanda Stenberg (The Hate U Give), Maria Bakalova (Borat 2) and a handful more.

Because this trailer has just rocketed this film from something I was looking forward to, to the movie of the summer.
Speaking of summer…go to your local movie theater on August 5th to escape the heat and check this guaranteed fun time out.
