IFC Midnight’s Mary Shelley is a gothic drama surrounding the author of Frankenstein and the events leading up to the story’s novelization. Though I’m sure Mary’s dark and tragic past will be romanticized for the big screen, much of the scenes depicted in the trailer ring true to life. Anything remotely gothic in nature has my full attention and historical fiction to boot? A perfect combination. Especially with the powerhouse that is Elle Fanning in the lead role.
I truly can’t wait to catch this one when it hits theaters on May 25th.
