It isn’t often that you are offered the job of the person you just killed. But, as we already know, Wayward Pines is not a place that operates within the confines of commonplace. Ben attends his first day of school, where the principal, Mrs. Fisher, takes him under her wing. As the new Sheriff, Ethan uses digs into the files that document each Pines resident’s history. The town wastes no time and he is asked, in his first day, to perform a ‘reckoning’ as punishment for Peter, a citizen who graffitied a building with statements about the dishonest nature of the town as a whole. Ethan attempts to save Peter by taking him to the perimeter of town, but instead Peter points Ethan toward the single point of escape from the town – a rock cliff – and makes a sacrifice for the greater good. A very solid episode.
