Slice is the movie equivalent to having a large group of friends over, ordering a pizza, but nobody can agree upon what toppings to get; so what you’re left with is a big, jumbled mess. The script is weak, with thin characters, and a variety of small ideas that never add up to a complete whole. The budget seems low, effects are cheap, and the violence/horror is extremely limited.
Chance the Rapper is the lone, charismatic highlight of this film. Ultimately, the movie is watchable, and did make a portion of my audience laugh (even if it failed to work on me). Since comedy and horror is very subjective, I’d say give this a…chance, and see if it works for you.
