A 666-Character Review Of ‘Scream: I Know What You Did Last Summer’

The game may be the same, but the stakes are raised for season 2 of MTV’s Scream. Things open with a subtle homage to Scream 2 done in the form of a movie theater attack. After that, the episode loses a bit of steam, focusing on explaining what happened between seasons (Noah got a podcast, Emma had a breakdown, Audrey is a town hero, etc), those details aside nothing felt too important. The current story, on the other hand, is excellent. Noah is growing obsessed, Audrey is potentially being set as this season’s focus/Final Girl, and we get a good look at the new killer in action. True to the franchise, this sequel is shaping up to be bloodier than the first. We may only see one kill, it’s torturous, brutal, and with an odd pig-butchering theme to it. All in all, this season is off to a really great start.
