Messy. That is my most succinct description for this film. We’ve got a Bigfoot that acts more human than animal, poorly explained Native American lore, and two incredibly unlikeable protagonists delivering banal dialogue. The redeeming qualities in this film lie in the practical effects. While scenes revealing our monster in full light may not have been so kind, the creature design was solid for such a low budget production. And the gore? Absolutely brutal. A Game of Thrones-caliber head squishing and a jaw-ripping scene that had much the same effect on my psyche were absolutely to die for. This film could use a good edit, better music to underscore the more intense moments, and a whole lot less bestial rape. But I absolutely hope to see this SFX team behind so many more projects in the future.
