Vanessa seeks help for her depression, Caliban experiences memories of his human life, Victor mopes over Lily, Dr. Jekyll is introduced, and Ethan is saved by his father’s lackeys. I felt for Vanessa, as practically her entire support system abandoned her after the last season. Patti Lupone shines as Vanessa’s psychologist, a severe woman who sees everything. Victor is annoying, whining over a relationship that was never even real. Jekyll is intriguing, claiming to have the ability to “tame” Lily. Considering there is no Lily as Victor thinks and Lily’s actions are more complex than good or evil, I’m expecting it to blow up in their faces. A promising start.
