Caliban’s family reunion ends tragically. Dorian and Lily reunite after his betrayal. His ending made sense because he embraces the static nature of being immortal. An epic battle between the vampires and our heroes starts. However, so much of the episode was disappointing. The Hyde reveal was awful, making Jekyll’s entire story share very little with the original story. His pointless story muddled other’s stories and had no lasting effect. I expected to see evil vampire queen Vanessa after she embraced her dark side, but it was the same depressed Vanessa. The ending of the conflict was so underwhelming. The same solution could have happened in the first season. It negates all of Vanessa’s journey throughout the series. It’s a disservice to an amazing character. Very disappointing.
