The fun but flawed story of a brother and sister’s family getting destroyed by a haunted mirror, twice. The sister’s character is compelling in her determination to get revenge on the mirror, while the brother is an empty shell. He’s boring, broody, passive: for the majority of the film walks around with his mouth open. Sissy’s fiancé is the biggest doormat in horror history. The story’s insistence to hop from past to present often and without warning makes it hard to follow. This switchback effect is trying desperately to be clever, but it’s not working. The delivery of the plot is so maddening that the audience will no longer care how the story turned out.
