In the second installment of the Friday the 13th franchise, Jason Voorhees makes his murderous debut. It begins with a lengthy recap of the initial film, which comes to a close as lone survivor Alice finds a surprise in her fridge. A new group of camp counselors, including heroine Ginny, return to Crystal Lake. Viewers find that Jason has been made aware of his mother’s decapitation and he wishes to avenge her; he even goes as far as to make a shrine in her honor in his makeshift cabin. Gloriously cheesy 80s slasher violence ensues, including a particularly grizzly kill of a local sheriff. The signature jump scare ending is sure to please fans of the series.
