Death By Script is a horror-comedy short clocking in at just under 9 minutes. A production company assistant tasked with reading script submissions from baby writers (aka never-before-published authors) stumbles upon a piece that has the ability to kill whoever refuses to green light it. It’s meta as hell, and also extremely self-aware (yep, they know it sounds an awful lot like the Ring). The acting isn’t the greatest and the dialogue leaves a lot to be desired, but optimistically this can be attributed to the plot-within-a-plot. A darkly comedic and satisfying twist ending rounds the film out nicely, punctuating it as more of a punchline than a resolution.
