An interesting movie that follows star Thora Birch in two parallel stories/realms/worlds. In one ‘world’, our protagonist lives a near-perfect life with a loving husband, good job, and caring co-workers. The one piece of discord: she and her husband are having difficulty conceiving. In the other ‘world’, she lives in a dungeon-like apartment, wakes up bleeding, works for the creepiest-ever mortuary boss, and is being stalked by ‘creatures’. There are many spooky moments (see: kids with demon voices) and the story builds to an interesting climax, but the resolution is very muddled and quite a bit less than satisfying. Bad acting+scary elements=ok, not great.
