In Writer/Director Jonas Odenheimer’s Classroom 6, a cub reporter for a local news affiliate enlists a hapless cameraman, film students, and a medium to produce a lock-in documentary on an allegedly-haunted college classroom from which a professor of the arcane and a student recently disappeared. I admit to approaching Classroom 6 with a found-footage cynic’s eye-rolling skepticism, but I was rewarded with an independent gem. Shot in under 48 hours with a microbudget of $5K, C6 steers clear of VFX parlor tricks, relying instead on game actors, genuine scares, and plenty of atmosphere to offer us a refreshing return to found-footage horror’s guerrilla roots.
