In Bloodline, Evan Coles is a high school social worker who’s hyper-paternal instincts drive him to protect his students at any cost. Initially packaged as a heroic vigilante justice story, the film quickly morphs into a serial killer slasher that dances the line of a vanilla thriller and campy genre.
The premise dragged at times, with Evan’s cookie-cutter MO, one-dimensional victims and scenes that were cut in a way that felt more like a mood than a story. The goreography could have been better as a lot of the murder scenes felt awkward and boring. Overall, it was a journey worth exploring, even if it’s just to see Seann William Scott play a brand new role.
