Bite isn’t for the faint of heart. Bugs, puss, gore, and viscera ooze out of its every seam and I happen to love that about it. It’s the story of a young woman named Casey having a run in with a mysterious bug on her vacation. As the movie goes on we watch her slowly morph into a humanoid insect and slowly pick off the people closest to her. There’s a subplot about her indecisiveness toward her upcoming marriage, but you’re here to see the body horror. As Casey slowly devolves we see some genuinely gross imagery reminiscent of The Fly crossed with Starry Eyes. For fans of body horror and casual fans with a strong stomach I really can’t recommend Bite enough.
