When a demonic cult overtakes a small Colorado town via mutating monsters, three ragtag friends must become the hometown heroes and stop the impending apocalypse. Directed and animated by Eric Power, Attack of the Demons is filmed in cut paper stop motion, a unique medium which paired very well with the story and genre. I loved the artist’s portrayal of the monsters and could recommend the film on the art alone. I did feel like the story built up too slowly and that the characters were a bit dull. Thankfully, the story does build up to an excellent third act, where the film takes advantage of its format to give you some good, fun and outlandish action scenes.

Attack the Demons screened as part of the Chattanooga Film Festival 2020.
