Maybe we’re just masochistic, but regardless of the persistent snubbing of horror as worthy of cinematic celebration at the highest level…we still tune in to see who will take home that little golden man named Oscar. And I hope you’ll join us!
Enjoy our commentary below, and feel free to comment along with us.
Thanks so much everyone who watched along with us!
This now concludes our coverage of the 92nd Academy Awards.
Goodnight!
Yay for Kelly who won!!!!!

who cares about Parasite - I WON!!!!
You missed a lot, B
Boooooooooo, but sure, why not. Parasite has Best Picture.

Oh, hi guys. What did I miss?
love the shade thrown by Jane Fonda, what the Academy seems to be a good film.
love the shade thrown by what the Academy seems to be a good film.
DAMN! I agree with you on Renee. This oppositional relationship is off to a rough start.
Yup! Somewhere in the last few months I started inexplicably agreeing more with Jacob, so I need to fill the spot with someone! Based on our opposition re: Joaquin and Parasite, you seem like a solid candidate. Let the battle begin!
Zellweger was also to rambly
I’m so honored! An archnemesis? For me??
I LOVED Joaquin's speech. Elizabeth - you might have replaced Jacob as my arch nemesis 🙂
Winner of best actress is Renée Zellweger! Kelly 9, Byron 7!
Why is he being allowed to talk for so long? It’s a confused mess of a speech with some good points.
BAM!
Winner of best actor is Joaquin Phoenix for Joker! Kelly 8, Byron 7!
I knew I could count on you to yell at me, Elizabeth! I totally see that perspective. I just thought it was brilliantly compelling and much more interesting. I don't know why, but I just wasn't that impressed with Parasite. It was certainly good - I just didn't think it was THAT good.
Also, totally agree that it was gross that they didn't include Sid Haig. That's crap.
I would love to talk about Parasite on the writers room pod because it’s amazing
No Sid Haig in the In Memoriam segment. 🙁
I yell at you, Kelly! Parasite is such an amazing film and Joker is a rehash and less inspired version of Taxi Driver.
After watching Joker, I'm voicing the unpopular opinion that Joker is getting robbed tonight (especially when compared to Parasite) - you can all yell at me now
His love for the other directors and his reference to Texas Chainsaw Massacre is just awesome.
Yet another standing ovations for him!!!
BAM! Caught you!

Will Ferrell didn't fart once.
That aside, Julia & Will are so funny and I love it.
Best Cinematography goes to...1917.
There goes our The Lighthouse chance...
Winner of best cinematographer is 1917. (Also wow, the presenters are mean to make a joke of their whole job.)
That rap was better than Eminem by a mile.
Was that Quest? I was. What an odd blend this has been.
It's no "You've Got a Friend in Me", but it will do, Randy! Bravo!

Martin Scorsese (I think?) has no idea what's going on...
Everyone seems confused about why Eminem is performing.
Ladies and gentlemen...Eminem!?
Someone get a camera on Billie E!
I wonder what the everyday pressures of being Lin-Manuel Miranda are like?
I love Florence Pugh but playing a child as an adult was super awkward.
Happy Birthday Laura Dern!

Hunk, Mahershala Ali presenting best Actress in a Supporting Role.
The winner is...Laura Dern (Marriage Story).
Lots of amazing performances here. Would have moved my vote to Johansson or Bates if I'd seen those films before locking in. Still haven't seen Marriage Story or Little Women.
Tony Hawk sighting! That's fun.
See me pick up that Skateboard win?
Winner of best documentary short subject is Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (If You’re a Girl)! Kelly 3, Byron 3
Workers of the world unite! Makes me feel bad that I didn’t watch any of the documentaries and why wasn’t Horror Noire nominated????
I love Mark Ruffalo! Why so mean?
SO Byron just told me to refresh my page
Kelly is confused but here.
Bruce Banner loves himself.
Best Documentary Feature goes to...American Factory.
Kelly & I whiff, but the movie looks good.
Winner of best documentary feature is American Factory. Some hard hitting stuff here.
Now I'm pretty sure I'm having a conversation with myself. Either that, or I'm still doing this all wrong.
Also Brad Pitt shouting out actual stuntmen for his performance as a stuntman is awesome. Give them some awards!
Seriously. Why is this so hard for me?
What Elizabeth said.
Breakthrough seems like a preachy, awful movie but the performance of the song was nice.
Wow. An impressive acapella tribute to clothing that went way better than expected. Winner of best costume design is Little Women! Kelly 2, Byron 3
The Oscar for Costume Design goes to...Little Women!
And I guess I guessed right, but after seeing Jojo Rabbit, I would have changed my vote.
Kinda killing it acapella, but will it beat Billie?
Thong song reference? "I think I'll sing it again!".
For those keeping track at home, that's Byron 2, Kelly 2.
The winner of best Production Design is...Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!
How cool is that? AND I GOT IT RIGHT.
Winner of best production design is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood!
Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph are hilarious but those dresses...
I take it back. I've been tricked and apparently they were acting.
Kristen Wiig has a cape & I love that.
Plus they're PO'd and T'd off.
The Conner's aren't terribly kind, but at least they're cultured.
Prepping myself for some Rudolph & Wiig hilarity during this commercial break...please.
Winner of Best live action short film: the Neighbor’s Widow. Kelly 2, Byron 1
This is adorable, that head kiss.
Best Live Action Short Film goes to...The Neighbors' Widow!
And it's my first correct guess.

Good on you, T! Jojo is one of the more heartwarming of the year.
Winner of Best adapted screenplay: Jojo Rabbit!!!!!!!!!! Go Taika Waititi!!!
Good for Parasite. Hope it’s not the only award it wins tonight.
Bong Joon Ho beaming at his Oscar is infectious and Timothee Chalamet is dressed like Michael Myers.

Timothy and Natalie, it's got a nice ring! Time to talk best adapted screenplay...
I do like the mention that writing a script is lonely. I feel that. Good on you, Bong.
That mic slip!
Best Original Screenplay goes to...Parasite...
I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of this tonight...
I guessed Knives Out (which was pretty fun I must say).
Kelly said 1917 AND Once Upon a Time...
Winner of best original screenplay: Parasite!!!!!!!!!!!
Best original screenplay up next! Crossing fingers for Parasite.
When Keanu wears a suit, I get nervous that he's going to shoot a few dozen people in the head, efficiently.
Quick commercial hug between Tom & Leo. Wonder who smells better?
A beautiful performance from international Elsas of Into the Unknown from Frozen 2. The animation on the stage is nothing short of magical.
It is insane how much I am struggling with this
I don't love Adam Green movies, but I can say I do like his version of Frozen better.
I don't have anything to say about Frozen, I apologize.
And I don't love Adam Green movies, but I can say I do like his version better.
More representation in film and especially in animation!
Love this progressive animation push! Can we not follow that up with Josh Gad?
Best Animated Short goes to...Hair Love!
Another win for Kelly...she's pretty good at this guessing thing...wonder where she is...
Winner of best animated short film: Hair Love! Kelly 2, Byron 0
Also wow. Chris Rock really went in on Oscars so White and Jeff Bezos.
Winner of best animated film: Toy Story 4!

Jaimee guessed it. K & I blew it putting our vote in holiday basket with Klaus.
This speech seems a bit stiff...but heck, they're animators.
On to the shorts...

Did you guys see any of these? Because I have only seen Toy Story 4.
Beanie Feldstein rules, AND is Jonah Hill's sister. The more you know.
I’m fine with that first award. Although I still think DaFoe should have won for The Lighthouse...
I envy the bromance between Leo & Brad. And appreciate the stunt guy shout out!
Brad is getting emo, and dunks with his last remarks.
Winner of best supporting actor: Brad Pitt for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood! Kelly 1, Byron 0
Performance in a supporting role goes to...Brad Pitt.
Kelly correctly predicted. I guessed Hanks.
Performance in a supporting role goes to...Brad Pitt.
Tom Hank's stars in, "Tie Your Shoes". Still haven't seen WYBMN....apologies.
Jeff Bezos didn't seem to appreciate remarks from Martin & Rock. I'd imagine he's perpetually thinking, "I could buy this place...".
Sadly, Steve Martin left his banjo at home. Rock and himself take it all in as the first presenters.
Awwww. Janelle Monáe sings Won’t You Be My Neighbor from Mr. Rogers to start the show. I appreciate the nods to Midsommar and Us in the background dancers and she got crowned May Queen. 🌸
This La La La-ing is surprisingly charming. Let Bree finish!
At least Midsommer and Us are getting SOMETHING with this opening.
Let’s do this thing!
Kicks off with a near wardrobe malfunction.
Let’s do this thing!
close call with that near wardrobe malfunction.
