J’abrams (J.J. Abrams)…you deserve a break! Maybe learn to surf? It’s hard to imagine that in between directing the highest grossing film in history, he had time to produce 10 Cloverfield Lane, which has dropped one of the most intriguing trailer of 2016.
Waking up from a car accident, a young woman finds herself in the basement of a man who says he’s saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable.
Taking a cue from one of the most successful modern horror trailers, You’re Next, we’re quickly put on edge by a mix of good times & classic tunes, shifting into fear and unease. Whether or not this has ANYTHING to do with the 2008, POV monster movie Cloverfield, is still up in the air. We know very little about what’s beyond the Cellar door (oddly enough, its original title), but with Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Thing (2011), Faults, Final Destination 3), & John Goodman (Red State, Arachnophobia) on screen, and J.J.’s watchful, unresting eye supervising, we’ve got something here.
All will be revealed on March 11th, when 10 Cloverfield Lane arrives in theaters.
