The critical success of last years A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, known as “The first Iranian vampire Spaghetti Western” has made an undeniable impact on genre film. Enough to catch the eye of producer Megan Ellison (Her, American Hustle, Zero Dark Thirty), who will join Vice in production of Amirpour’s next project, The Bad Batch.
Teaming up with Ellison has brought in some serious heavyweights. Jim Carey will play “The Hermit”, Keanu Reeves is “The Dream”, & Suki Waterhouse (from the upcoming film Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) will be “Arlen”.
Lips are tight on details of this project, but its rumored to be a love story, based in a Texas wasteland, home to a community of cannibals. Yum.
It’s about time we see more of the dramatic/genre acting ability that I know Carey is capable of. Something to finally wash the taste of The Number 23 out of my mouth. And if you haven’t seen John Wick yet…just do, alright?
Production will begin next month in Los Angeles, & they’re planning to sell the film at this years Cannes Film Festival.
